Privacy policy
We collect the minimum we need to sell you a product and get it to your door. We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing you didn’t ask for.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
- When you pay: if you upload a payment receipt, we store that file so we can match your transfer. We never see or store your card or banking login details — payment happens at your own bank.
- When you apply as a distributor: the same contact details, plus which package you bought, so we can register you.
- While you browse: a cookie that remembers your basket. It contains a random identifier, nothing about you.
Why we collect it
To take and deliver your order, confirm your payment, contact you about that order, register you with African Gem if you bought a distributor package, and keep the accounting records the law requires. That is the whole list.
Who else sees it
Only the services that make the shop work: our hosting and database providers, our email provider, and the courier who delivers to you. If you buy a distributor package, your name and contact details are passed to African Gem so your distributorship can be registered. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and business law requires. Payment receipts are kept while the order is open and for our records afterwards. Ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep and we will.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us and we will respond. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
